CPI report: August 2021

Consumer prices rose 5.3% in the 12 months through August 2021, down from 5.4% in July. Core inflation, which excludes food and energy, ran 4.0%. The CPI-U index stood at 273.567, a 0.2% change from the prior month (not seasonally adjusted).
