CPI report: April 2023

Consumer prices rose 4.9% in the 12 months through April 2023, down from 5.0% in March. Core inflation, which excludes food and energy, ran 5.5%. The CPI-U index stood at 303.363, a 0.5% change from the prior month (not seasonally adjusted).
